Ghosts of Salt Dough Ornaments Past

Got some not very good photos of the salt dough ornaments I have made for my son & his wife while we were over there on Saturday. The first is one I made for them about 6 yrs ago, when there were only 3 of them.

This turned out pretty cool I always thought. My son, his wife & their oldest depicted as smiling faces in Santa type hats. This was one of the first salt dough ornaments I ever made. Sure wish I had pictures of the other stuff I have made over the years.
Next is one I made for my daughter-in-law, Tiffany when she was pregnant with Bradley who is now 5 yrs old.

Tiffany says this is her favorite one. At least that is what she posted as a comment about this photo on Facebook.

The last one is one I made for them 2 years ago. This one shows them all snuggled up in bed, staying warm with their night caps on.

All covered up with a comfy patchwork quilt. Don't they just look all cozy?

The problem with this one was that it ended up weighing a lot. That is why this year I made them this:

My son still wants a salt dough ornament & Tiffany wants one of her pregnant with Jessica. I will get to them eventually. Maybe if I start my Christmas projects in February I will be ready for next Holiday season! Well maybe, maybe not.

Hope Your Christmas Was Wickedly Awesome

I hope everyone in Blogland had a wickedly awesome Christmas day.  Mine was great. Got to spend some time with my son & his family. Talked to my daughters up in Maryland. Exchanged some goofy text messages with my brother. I have to call my sister today. Did not have the time for that. Sorry Sister Dear! My son's kids had a great time with all the stuff they got from Santa, mom & dad & me & grandpa. My oldest grandson, Ryan is getting really good with the yo yo. Check this video:

His brother Bradley was not having too much luck with the Wii. Usually he is a master with the sword fighting.

Miss Thing, my granddaughter Jessica had quite the time on her first Christmas. Grandpa helped her with her new kitchen set.

Here she is in her new Raiders Cheerleader dress (daddy is a Raider's fan) that she got for Christmas.

This shot is a bit blurry. The child was not still for an instant! In one shot I took of her she ended up not even being in the photo cause she scooted off to something else before the shutter released!

We got my son Shannon a Fushigi Ball. We all saw this gizmo in action at the Renaissance Fair a couple years ago. It is really awesome.

Bradley got his Alphie!
He was moving fast too.

My daughter-in-law Tiffany was staying by the kitchen keeping an eye on the yummy croissant ham, turkey & cheese creations she had in the oven.

 Santa got Ryan a telescope.

A turtle was taking it easy basking in the sun on a log in the lake at my son's place.

Here an Egret is looking for something for his Christmas dinner.

The Muscovy Ducks were out & about around the lake also.

My son & his wife Tiffany got me this:

The above shot is with the flash on so you can see the details. Below is without the flash to shoe that the crystal ball is lit up. It even changes colors!

This is a fountain too. Pretty awesome, huh?

My son's family headed up to his wife's grandparents house for part two of Christmas so the Hubs & I went out later to the only place that was open & had dinner.

Endless coffee...love it!

The Hubs, Michael mugging for the camera.

His steak

My Breakfast Sampler plate.

Then back home to exchange our gifts to each other

The Hubs got me this skull ashtray. Ain't it cool?

Also the movie Despicable Me. I have been wanting to see it since I saw the previews on TV.

Plus he got me all these Gift Cards!

Look at em! Macy's, Victoria's Secretions Secret, Dots, American Eagle, Michael's Crafts, Payless Shoe Source & Cotton On. He sure spoiled me this year. Love ya Honey!

I got him some boots, a long sleeved button up shirt & warm socks for when we move to the frozen tundra of PA. Plus I got him Gift Cards to Target & JC Penny so he can maybe find some jeans. You don't own too many pairs of long pants living in the land of warm.

I hope your big day was great & all arrived to their destinations safe & sound. I witnessed a Jeep flipping over on my way to work Christmas Eve. It was horrible & my thoughts go out to the family who lost their loved one on what should not have been such a tragic day. I have had that vision in my head & would have gladly traded it in for visions of sugar plums if I could have.

Blessed Be

Broom Has Been Found

 Found

Just wanted to let all of you know that my Broom has been found & he is safe (for now until I decide to bust loose on him) I got a call from the manager of the local 24 hour Walgreens. It seems the other night when he & I were there buying some gift cards, a little sweet thing caught his eye.

Yup, he has a thing for this Swiffer Mop & was hanging out in the storage room with it. (sigh) Who knew my Broom was reaching puberty? All those Broom hormones running amok. What am I to do? Well at least my Broom is now home & he & I will be taking off soon for a trip around Blogland. Oh & the local 24 hour Walgreens (sigh)

Have You Seen Me?

Has anyone in Blogland seen my Broom? He went missing early yesterday morning when I refused to get up at 2am to go flying over Blogland.

The Broom has taken off before but never for this long. Usually he goes just  down the  road to hang out with the Spanish Moss. (which used to surprise me cause I did not know he knew Spanish) The Hubs & I have checked all over the neighborhood & even questioned the mop & our next door neighbor's rake but so far so sign or info on his whereabouts. This really has me worried cause my Broom loves all the Holidays. He never has missed one before. Please contact me if you see him anywhere in Blogland.

Heading over to my son Shannon's house to visit with him & his family today. I will be checking my blog over at his house to see if anyone has seen or heard anything concerning the Broom.
I hope you all have a Happy Holiday. I will attempt to but will be wondering about my Broom.

Merry Humbug!

Our Christmas Lights

Well my friends, my inside decorating did not go as planned since my entertainment center is in the garage & I have a dresser in my living room because of the new TV being too large for the entertainment center. The cats are having fun with it though. (sigh) So I have a few pics to share with all of you wonderfully inside your house decorated people. I present to you some of our outside decor & my tree. One of our inflatable snowmen sadly did not make it to be included in this years outside holiday display. His motor went kaput & we had to send him off to the dump a better place.

I have no idea why the snowman in this snow globe is obsessed with his feet this year. Plus he is making the poor lollipops stare at them too. Notice the lack of snow in the globe? Have to get more cause the Hubs left the back open & when it was plugged in it snowed foam pellets all over that part of the yard. ( guess we can say we had snow!)

This is a shot of our oldest inflatable in our side yard. This guy has been around for quite a while. Yup, made from sturdier stock than the one we lost.

He has a great smile don't you think? He likes to stand behind the fence since he is tall enough to see over it.

A new addition this year. Lighted candy canes for Bandit D. Bunny's weed bed.

Our tree & some of the gifts. My husband is a last minute wrapper. Some of the things I got for him are not out & under the tree yet because he is a sneak peeker & have to keep some stuff away from his prying eyes.

Alas, my gazzilion Santas did not make it out of their boxes this year along with the Holiday Village I made a few years ago, plus a ton of other stuff.  Hubs did not want to pull all the stuff out & I cannot get the boxes from the garage attic. He is such a Grinch (until it comes to getting gifts) So I am very happy that I got to see a lot of the decorations all of you put up in your houses. Thanks for sharing those with me.

Me, The Broom & The 24 Hour Walgreens

Merry Christmas Eve Eve my Blogland peeps! Are you ready for Saturday? Yea, me neither. But getting there. ( I guess ) The Broom is excited about Christmas. He woke me up at 5am to go flitting through Blogland. He likes to look at all the lights. We even managed to stop at the local 24 hour Walgreens to snag some gift cards. (love those things & the fact that you can get a bunch of different ones all in one spot) Did you know that if you walk into a Walgreens at 5am with an excited, jumping around Broom, people look at you funny? They do. Take my word for it. But the manager was very nice when he came to wish me & the Broom Happy Holidays!  Anywho, below is a list of the places we hit this morning.
