Shoe Redo Be Do Be Do

 Yesterday.....I did not have to go to work! I am so happy. So I pretty much didn't do anything. But I did finally redo a pair of shoes. Got the idea from all the shoes I have seen redone here in Blogland. A friend of mine gave me a pair of shoes a few years ago & they have been sitting in a box in my closet cause they are white. Yup. I do not do white shoes unless they are a pair of these:

 which you can wear with jeans, shorts or a cute summery skirt.

 I know you have all heard the fashion rule of not wearing white after Labor Day. Well in my book, even the day before Labor Day still comes after Labor Day of the year before. So....no wearing white shoes! (ever for me)

The shoes in question here were not new so I could not return them to the store or anything & they were kinda scuffed a bit. They looked exactly like this:

And the reason they look exactly like this is because this is the offending pair of shoes.

I mean I did not think anything was whiter than my legs right now but these most definitely are!

So I taped & stuffed as I have seen others do before me. But before spraying them the color I wanted them, I primed them first.

When the Hubs came out & saw me spraying the shoes this color, he just looked at me & raised his brow. I told him "No" that was not the color they will be when finished. That is the color of my primer paint. (he can be such a twit)

Next came two good coats with the black spray paint. They are just shiny like that cause the paint was just applied. I let them dry & boy did I get lucky. It had been over cast all day & as soon as I brought the shoes inside, the rain came. Not a lot but enough.

Now I have a pair of shoes I can wear with whatever & not be embarrassed out of my skull.

Look it.

Only a bit of the black spray paint managed to sneak its way in under the stuffing & tape. I love these shoes now & will be wearing them with many different items.

So I just want to send a big Thank You out to those in Blogland who inspired me to do this instead of  tossing the white shoes in the garbage.

How Big Can A Little Girl's Finger Be?

 I am in amazement that my granddaughter Jessica aka Pirate Princess, Girly Girl & Miss Thing, can have soooo many people wrapped tight around one little finger! But look at this face. How can her parents & brothers & all the other family members even attempt keeping her charms at bay? (okay, so I am a proud Grandmama & want to show her off & brag a bit) I love all my grandchildren & wish I had some more updated photos to show of all of them! (hint hint oh kids of mine!)

 She is too adorable for her own good!

Dodging Fireworks- Me & The Broom Out On New Year's Morning

Happy 2011 Blogland! The Broom & I went out dodging fireworks in the Florida sky to take a spin around to visit some friends. It took some coxing to get the Broom to go out. He is spooked by fireworks just like the cats & rabbit are. He was cowering in a corner of the Florida Room so bad his bristles were quivering a mile a minute. After I calmed him down, off we went. (hmmm....fireworks & ice!)

New Years Resolutions?

Well the time is upon us Blogland. Tis New Years Eve & time for those dreaded, oh no I'm never gonna keep em resolutions. Years ago when my kids were small I made the only New Years Resolution I have ever accomplished. And that was to never, ever make another New Years Resolution. Yes I have kept that one! I mean what is the sense in making a resolution that you are gonna either lose weight, get in shape, have the chin hairs lasered, get that mole removed, go back to school & get a degree....what ever, if you are too busy or what to keep the resolution? All that you accomplish is not fulfilling the goals you set for yourself so you end up kicking yourself in the butt & considering yourself a failure. Well, you are not failures. If you feel you must make a resolution make one like you will be the best person you can be for yourself & others. That one should be easy to keep unless you are a hardened criminal or a mass murderer & then I must ask you to stop hanging out at Wiccan Make Some Too. Just go easy on yourselves my friends. Keep the goals realistic for your daily lives & situations. Remember also all the cool & neat people you have met in Blogland. That should make you feel good!
