Me & The Broom & I Am Sure I Have Anthrax

Hey Blogland, I will try not to breathe on any of you today. I am pretty sure I have Anthrax or some other weird out of date malady cause I sure feel like I have been french kissed by a Mac Truck.  Either that or my Lucky Charms came with a Leprechaun & I ate it & he is now in my stomach digging a spot to bury his pot of gold. Did the Broom care this morning? Did he let me sleep in? Did he show me any compassion at all? Of course not! Now I think one of the cats has Anthrax too cause one of them did a huge yak right inside the door to the laundry room. Guess my stuff in the washer is gonna stay in there for a bit. Here is where my Broom took me this morning:

I Put The Shamrocks To Use

Okay people unless your memory is totally shot, I am sure you remember this pile o' these from my last post:

So, I took some of these & mixed in this stuff:

Added some green spray paint:

And a bit of silver paint

Added them all together & topped it off with a silver ball & got this!

The shamrocks are held in place with some of the ribbon that is attached with straight pins. Just wish my front door was not brown. Not the best color back drop for this wreath.

I attached the dangly ones with some twine I had in one of my craft stashes & my door is ready for St. Patrick's Day.

I would have posted a longer, better detailed post but I think I have Anthrax or some other brutal malady attacking my system now. (sigh) Figures that the Hubs is in PA. right now & can't run to the store for some meds for me. Oh well......I have survived worse!  Maybe the Broom will feel sorry for me & let me sleep in tomorrow. Yea, right...who am I kidding!

Some Shamrocks & A Bunny

These hands have not been idle. I found these awesome tutorials on making wickedly cool stuff on Child Made. I figure if a kid can do it.....well than gosh darn-it, so can I!

I made some shamrocks

 Like this one.

And a bunny

Ain't he cute?
He isn't quite done in this shot but you get the idea.

The shamrocks are so light weight that I did not dare spray paint them outside. They would have ended up all over the neighborhood! Would have been funny though....everyone wondering what the freak is up with all the cardboard shamrocks blowing around the place. Hmmmm....maybe some mayhem to have fun with at a later date!
I sprayed them with silver first off as kind off a primer.

Kinda look like cookie cutters here

Next came the green spray paint

Now I have a big ol' happy pile o' shamrocks!

Some did not quite get coated all the way with the green but hey, I am ok with that.

The bunny is in the process of being sprayed now

So hang on to your seats my Blogland peeps to see what becomes of these items! Check out the Child Made link & see all the cool stuff you & your kids of course, can make.

My Day Off, The Broom & When Will That Roof Be Done

It was yet another early morning for me my Blogland friends. Yes...the roofing job across the street is still going on but today was the day the Hubs had to get to the airport for his recon mission in PA. The Broom was in a panic when he saw the suitcase & tried to block me from leaving the house. I explained that I was coming back & we would be off on our flight through Blogland then. Of course with the Broom being agitated, that got the cats going nutso.  We finally made it out the door & boy did I ever get the Mac Daddy of greetings when I got back home from the airport! Two cats a the Broom were sure happy to see their Momma! I would have taken D'Artagnon & Ramses with us but they fight too much on the Broom & it really ticks the Broom off. Here is where we went:

Did not have a whole lot of time today to visit. Had to get back to the house & into the rain locker cause I had errands to run!

Me & The Broom & What Is That Banging?!?!?

Before the sun came up in my area of Blogland this morning, we were all awakened by this horrible banging. It seems the house across the street is having a new roof put on & the energetic crew was at it before daylight......is that even legal? The Hubs made coffee, the two cats tripped out over the banging & the Broom was ready to take off to avoid all the noise. I grabbed a cup of coffee, kissed the Hubs on the cheek, pet the cats to help calm then down & jumped on the Broom to fly off over Blogland & enjoy the silence.

The Hubs Recon Mission Starts Thursday

Getting excited about what I am getting into. Most of you may not know that the 100 yr old house the Hubs & I will be moving into in April has never been seen by me & when he saw them years ago, he cannot remember what they looked like other than they had some good sized bedrooms. I tried to Google Earth it but the van only drove past the street it is located on. I got to see what the curb looked like in that shot. Also an aerial view of the huge back yard. But nothing of the front of the house. The Hubs flies into Maryland on Thursday & his mom will pick him up at BWI Airport & from there they drive to Uniontown. I am arming him with a camera & he has his cell phone that he can use to send pics to my email. I am keeping my fingers crossed that he takes some clear shots. (he is not known for that) I finally convinced him that when using a film loaded camera to only order one print of each shot until we know how many have actually turned out clear. I have a large pile of blurry double prints already & do not need more. Hubs has been instructed to take shots of windows (not straight on if the sun is shining through), all different angles of the rooms, as well as outside shots of the porch & front door. With any luck, by Friday I will have some photos from his cell phone that are clear enough to share with all of you & then......my plotting the house make-over will begin!

Tuesday...Me,The Broom & A Bunch Of Rain

It is a soggy one this morning Blogland. Nothing like flying over the many blogs while holding an umbrella over my Broom cause he does not like getting his bristles wet. Maybe I should not cater to him so much bit it sure beats having to look at a soggy, pouting Broom later on. The Hubs woke me this morning while yelling at the cat, whom I am pretty sure the Broom was instigating again. (sigh) I have no idea what a full nights sleep is like anymore. Here is where we stopped to visit & shake off some rain.
