Holiday Cake

I wanted to share a Holiday cake I made a few years back with all of you. This was made for a big Holiday Bash I was having for the family. All the other desserts & treats I had made were snarfed up with a quickness but nobody touched this cake. When I asked what was wrong with the cake, my family replied that they thought it was a center piece. I replied that it wasn't & to dig in. I went by the the dessert table a bit later & still it was uncut. I snagged up a knife & cut a slice out & placed it on a plate & said " there, like that"! The family fell on it like a pack of wolves. I was happy.

The raised crescent shaped pieces are white chocolate made by melting the chocolate & pouring it into the grooves of the pedal pan I backed the cake in then decorated them with holly & berries made from royal icing. Then I made full sized holly leaves from green tinted chocolate for the middle of the cake. Cut the candles in graduated heights & there ya go. Hope you like it. Oh the red "ribbon" on the sides of the cake are cherry licorice ropes cut to fit.

Don't forget to leave a comment. I love hearing from cool folks like yourself.
